outline underspeed: specify number of perimeters

If I understand correctly, outline underspeed is to produce an aesthetically pleasing exterior?

Often we may ramp up the number of perimeters for reasons such as strength.

How many of them really need to be printed slowly?

One or perhaps two are visible.

Five perimeters printed at "outline underspeed" is just slowing down the print unnecessarily.

Thanks!

You can check in the preview, but I would say outline underspeed means only the single exterior perimeter. Change the infill underspeed for the other perimeters that make up the shell.

Great idea!

Since all the common speeds seem to be green or nearly green in S3d speed preview colouration, I increased max speed to 90mm/s and set underspeed to 50%. So we expect Orange at top speed.

Here are the results:

Re: outline underspeed: specify number of perimeters

Hi,

if we could adjust different speeds for Outline/Perimeter/Infill, printing would be even faster...
With Slic3r for example, I can print ~30-40% faster as with S3D.

I hope we can have this "feature" in a near future update !

Re: outline underspeed: specify number of perimeters

I second this request. I'm currently printing a part with 8 outlines, and I run the outline underspeed at 33% to get a real clean outer surface. The speed decreases incrementally on each of the 8 outlines which, as the OP states, increases the build time. Would love to be able to limit the underspeed to the outer 2-3 outlines.
