Re: M3D Micro 3D USB Connection

Use M3D Preprocessors does quite a bit. It changes the speed of the gcode to M3D speeds. It also does a backlash compensation. Even if the M3D could be connected to by S3D it would give bad prints b/c the M3D needs quite a bit of backlash compensation that S3D doesn't compute.

Re: M3D Micro 3D USB Connection

Are there any news regarding this topic? Does M3D still not release any details about their preprocessor?

I just found a GitHub project that uses the Micro3DSpooler.exe and Micro3DSpooling.dll to generate a preprocessed gcode file:

Maybe this code can be used to integrate the preprocessor into Simplify3D? Or are there legal problems when using those DLL's?

I doubt they will integrate anything unless M3D officially documents the communication details.

And yes, I'm sure there's legal issues with stealing a DLL and bundling it with their app

XYZ did this sort of thing, and someone hacked their software and grafted a proxy onto it so it could receive the commands and pass them through.
