Creating a Folded Spring-Like Material Like Support Material

Hey guys,
We are trying to create a block to cover an entrance in a beehive (I know its a weird application) and we want it to hold in the opening using a folded spring-like structure on each end of the block, using the compression to hold the block in place. We got the idea from some folded springy support structure that prints alongside one of our common prints. However, I am not sure how to design such a folded spring/compressible folded material. For modelling we use PTC creo. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I use Solid Works for my designing and would just build a protruding tab an 1"long or 25mm whichever units and the amount of space you have to work with and depending on the material you print with and the infill density it should just retract into a pocket slightly larger than the tab dimensions and friction will hold it in place.

I understand the basic concept you're asking about, but don't understand the details well enough to propose a solution. Could you post a sketch of what you are hoping to achieve?
