Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

I also changed the first layerheight to 99% and everything work fine for now!

Yes I see this often with .2 layer height. There is definitely a round off error somewhere in the S3D slicing engine.

I have been seeing this a lot lately also. It's definitely a bug and not model error.

That's the conclusion I came to a month ago:

Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

The missing layers part seems to be worst in the latest version but the extra partial layer problem has been around for a few versions at least. I'm glad it is easy enough to work around but I would call this a high priority bug that needs a resolution in the next release. Have people emailed S3D directly about it?

Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

I'm going to tentatively say that this bug has been fixed in V3.1. I sliced a model in V3.02 that displayed missing layers and then the same model with identical settings in V3.1 and no missing layers. Won't know for sure until I use it for a while. Can anyone else report?

Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

Their release notes specifically mention automatic repair for partially damaged files or meshes, so I'm guessing that's helping here.

I tried 3 different files that I've had trouble with before and they actually all sliced correctly now in 3.1.0, even though I know one of them definitely had some mesh errors.
