Feature Request: Indipedent filament profiles

Did a search, hadn't seen this listed (at least any time recently):

(slightly edited wording below)
Would really like the ability for 'filament profiles' to be saved independent from the 'machine profile': Every filament has things that make it unique from others: Filament diameter, extrusion temp, bed temp, extrusion multiplier, cooling required. I find myself loading a saved (machine) profile into a process, then having to check my notes for a given filament, and change that process for the given filament. What would be great instead would be if you could generate a 'filament profile' for each of your filaments, and just point your process to that profile.

On a side note, Slic3r implements this exact concept via their 'Filament Settings' menu. And while I don't use Slic3r, it seems like a great feature.

Re: Feature Request: Indipedent filament profiles

Can't this be done very simply by using naming conventions when you save your profiles, such as:

Filament Y Nozzle 0.4 No Supports
Filament Y Nozzle 0.4 Supports
Filament X Nozzle 0.4 No Supports

etc.....

Or do you save your profiles as processes????

Re: Feature Request: Indipedent filament profiles

Yes you can do that. It's just... clunky IMO.

I have two machines at home, and probably 20 different profiles (which are added as process presets, to get all the nomenclature correct here) for printing different types of filaments\quality settings\speeds\etc ,with different nozzle diameters (I have .4, .6, .8, 1.0 & 1.2 nozzles). And I probably have 10 different filaments (different brands of PLA, HIPS, ninjaflex). Which means every time I load up my "cbot PLA .4mm speedLow resMed" (profile 1 of 20), I then have to adjust it even further for the filament of the day I happen to be printing with. It would be much nicer to just load that printer profile, then in the process point it to a given 'filament profile' that I filled out for that filament.

I'm just trying to cut down on how much customization I need to do of each profile every time I open it. If you have one machine, with one type of filament, then this is overkill. But once you start to expand on the system, it gets overwhelming fast. Since I have 20 print profiles and 10 filament types, I'd need to have... 200 print\filament profiles for every combination to choose from. Ugh.
Again, Slic3r is doing it right.
