Printing in mid-air

Hi all,
I'm new with S3d and am still excited by all the features and extremely fast slicing time.
However, I am trying to print an oddly shaped object and S3D doesn't seem to be able to generate addiquit support as shown in the photo attached. my overhang settings are set for 60 deg. Of course i can manually add support in that spot but this is an undetectable problem unless you review every slice of the process, which i think is what the software is supposed to do for me.
Any advice?

It would probably be a lot more helpful if you posted a factory file (file > save factory file)

That surface has a steeper angle than what you are specifying in your support settings. So you either need to lower the angle threshold, or you can always just add supports there manually if you want everything else with a steep angle to still not have support.
