extruder won't extrude

noob. just purchased a bcn3d sigma.

I am trying to print a simple model with the left extruder using the pla filament supplied with the printer. when it starts printing, it doesn’t extrude anything — the extruder motor doesn’t activate. when i run the purge utility, i can get filament to extrude without problem.

is there something wrong with my profile? i’m using the one supplied by bcn3d here: https://www.bcn3dtechnologies.com/en/si ... simplify3d.

I’ve attached the simplify3d factory, stl, and gcode files.

Re: extruder won't extrude

Just for future reference....the factory file contains the .stl file.....and the gcode file can be generated from the factory file, so you only need to supply the factory file on its own.

Okay, we need to expand on the "it doesn’t extrude anything" statement.....

Does the printer extrude any filament off the bed before it moves to start printing?

If it does, then I suspect your print nozzle is too close to the bed for it to extrude the first layer. Changing the global z offset to 0.1mm may resolve this.

If not....does anything start printing if you leave the printer running for a couple of minutes?

Or are you saying that absolutely zilch comes out of the nozzle? And is the nozzle hot?
