TAZ 5 taking several attempts to connect (Mac)

Strange problem has popped up over the last few months. Normally I turn on my TAZ printer then load Simplify 3D and it automatically connects. If I turn on S3D first then I have to hit the connect button.

But in the last few months I have to hit the connect button several times (2-4) before it will connect even when turning on the printer first.

Once connected I can print 24 hours with no connection issues and as long as I don't turn the printer off it will stay connected. It's just an annoyance but it's bugging me and I wondered if anybody has a clue why and how to fix it?

Did you update the firmware recently? Perhaps something on the machine changed

No updates to firmware. Nothing changed but a printed camera mount added to the machine. That's what is perplexing me, nothing that I know of has changed.
