So I been trying to save plastic and time by using multiple processes with different infills. Now Simplify3D will create what I want but there is a side effect that I have not seen in the example videos. At the height one process starts and one process ends the model ends up with 3 top and 3 bottom layers. What I was hoping for was a just a quick change in infill without the top and bottom layers added. In the example video on youtube from other users they didn't have to turn off top and bottom layers. Simplify3D just knew it was one object. Do I need to turn off top and bottom layers for the processes or should the app know to do this automatically?
If you don't want any solid layers between the transition, then yes, you need to turn that off. Think of each process as it's own dedicated print. You have to configure the settings exactly how you want that section to print.
I actually find that having some solid layers between the transition is a good thing, as it helps the 2 sections bond together better
OK, It makes sense... I guess after seeing videos where the settings said top and bottom layers were 2 or 3 and then the preview shown nothing. I was thinking it was no supposed to happen.
