Better control of bridging print/path direction.

It seems this was discussed and someone says it works in 3.0 but I can say it does not. I did a print last night with an open rectangular area to bridge. The open area even had built in vanes running the long direction as built in supports but when the bridging started it chose to run the bridge in the long direction of the rectangle rather than across the short span. This makes no logical sense that I can see why it would do this.

I'm noticing this, too. I have a cylindrical part where there are radially arranged walls that need to be bridged. For this purpose, "concentric" fill works really well since it runs round and around bridging the walls. If I select rectilinear fill, however, the bridging pattern is a back-and-forth fill with the same direction across the entire part. This makes it run parallel to the walls in between them for part of the print, which is the worst possible thing to do. It would be good if the bridge detection made sure to always direct the fill back and forth between the underlying supports.

Version 4.0 includes a completely new bridging algorithm that performs better in many situations, but we have also added an option to customize the direction that is used for the bridging layers. So if you want to try a different direction for your bridge, you can configure that by clicking "Edit Process Settings", going to the Other tab, and then enabling the "Use fixed bridging angle" option and enter the angle you want to use.
