Saving to SD Card event/issue when full

Software: Simplify 3d
Printers: FlashForge Pro / PowerSpec / MonoPrice

So I found a print I wanted to print my son...about 14.5 hours. Started at night and when I got home from work the following day, the print job had stopped about 1/2 thru. I would also like to note that it did not return to the home position, not shut off the heated extruder or hotbed (see a major issue here?) on the FlashForge Creator Pro. Ok, so I thought a mechanical issue with the 3d printer. Moved the SD card to the next FlashForge Pro printer and attempted to print it again. Second verse...same as the first. So apparently Simplify3D will slice and save you gcode to an SD care even if there is not enough room. No disk full or not enough space...rather just save as much as it can to use the remaining disk space. Grabbed a another SD card with much more space to be able to write the entire gcode file and printed again....printed proper.

How can I request this be be addressed? a simple popup or "job not save to SD card" or "not enough disk space".

Thanks

Re: Saving to SD Card event/issue when full

I just had the same issue last night. Took me forever to figure out why Simplify3D was writing files to my SD card that wouldn't print on my machine. I go to open the files in a text editor, and they're all 0KB. The card was out of space but the software keeps writing to it without ever flagging an error.

Is there a place to request this be addressed?

Re: Saving to SD Card event/issue when full

I recently had a question about how to know when the file had finished being written to the SD card. Try yours again and look at the bottom left of the screen (below where you click the SD cards to save the file) to see what message you get there. When mine finished uploading the file I got a message it completed.
If someone hadn't told me that was there I would never have noticed.
Maybe that will help?!
