Images and Attachments

I posted a plea for help with my pint problems, and got the very reasonable response that I should submit some pictures and a factory file. I can click the Img item on the bar at top of the message editor, and I get . I've tried inserting a url to the pics of the problem print, but only the text of the url shows up.
e.g.
ImageImagehttps://www.snapfish.com/library/share? ... 0/SNAPFISH[/img]

How does one include pictures and/or files in a post?

tnx

Re: Images and Attachments

The easy way to get a photo from your PC to the forum:

When you post on the forum, take a look at the three grey buttons at the bottom of the "Post a Reply" page. Below the buttons, in the grey bar is "Upload attachment". Click on this....and follow the prompts.

Once the file has been "uploaded", you can either insert it into the text of your message....."Place inline".....or leave it so it's seen as an attachment.

The not-so-easy way:

Upload to a photo hosting site and then put the url of the image in the Img tags by typing the url in full, highlighting it, and pressing the IMG in the dark grey bar along the top of the posting box. You should end up with:

{Img}www.photositeurl.com/imageidzxy123pqz{/Img} .....but with square brackets, not curly.

Re: Images and Attachments

I think the key that's missing is that when you use the IMG tags, it has to be a direct link to an image. So

Code: Select all

[img]https://www.snapfish.com/library/share?w=snapfish_us&c=snapfish&l=en_US#VtEXOljLVU8WtRMMWLrsSg/SFO/27940530310060/SNAPFISH[/img]
doesn't work because it links to some web page gallery, but

Code: Select all

Does because it is a link to the actual image to display.

Re: Images and Attachments

Whoops........I've dropped a whotsit!!!

The first method I described is okay.....uploading image direct from your PC to the site.

I've dropped the cod with the second method.....which is a method I don't use cos it's sort of a waste of time for me!!! Why upload a photo to one site to show it on another site, when you can upload the photo direct to the site you want it showing on! Anyway, I'll repeat the method with things corrected:

Upload to a photo hosting site and then put the url of the image in URL tags by typing the url in full, highlighting it, and pressing the URL in the dark grey bar along the top of the posting box. You should end up with:

{url}www.photositeurl.com/imageidzxy123pqz{/url} .....but with square brackets, not curly.

Sorry for the clanger......
