Hiya,
I thought of an addition of a filament length counter which would be great to keep track of the total amount used and what's left.
basically you have the initial filament to be used in the report within the preview. but if it could keep a log of what was left too.
in other tab, to add filament length and as long as you don't change it it could show on the control panel how much it has used so far (during print) and how much is left.
this could be enhanced with a spool tab where you could have 8 preset spool spaces each with a number that could be annotated on the physical spool by the user. in each preset should show the original amount (entered by user) then the system's calculated filament remaining of that spool followed by a user entered description of the material on the spool
The filament details on the 'other' tab could then be moved over to the spool tab and have each preset spool with a set of those details.
A select tick box at the start of the spool preset in order to select that spool to be used in the preview window's details. showing a warning if you dont have enough on the spool.
adding to this, another script tab could be added for actions on filament run out. with a default command of retract filament - lower build plate- move to front left corner. once changed, the control panel on GUI or machine should be just a resume to return to normal operation / continued printing.
beyond this the spool presets could have a profile assigned by means of a drop down menu, allowing for quicker set ups. where adjustments are made to the profile it should cascade to the spool preset that has that profile selected. selecting the spool with the profile assigned to it should have the same effect as if changing the profile on the first window of the Process setup.
hope this is possible as it would help massively with managing spool usage.
