Printer Stops sometimes

Hello,

i have a very strange and crazy Problem with my Hictop Prusa I3

Sometime ( and Sometime is the Problem ) i print one Part, a Little one most of the Time, and all is ok.
Then i want to print another one and the Printer stops at any Point, sometimes at 10%, sometimes at 40% or other Points.
That is the other Problem, the Print does not stop all the Time at the same Point and also not all the Time.
All this happens very random.
Also there is no Error Message in the Display.

I print all the time from SD
I have checked all the Cables
I changed the SD Card
I put such a Ferrit Core around the Cables
( https://www.amazon.de/dp/B016FC066O/ref ... 4N282HY51G )
I changed the Power Cable and also the Position of the Printer

I dont know, what else i can do?

Re: Printer Stops sometimes

If you are printing from the SD card, then the cables shouldn't matter. You can even unplug the USB cable after starting the print.

If your SD prints keep pausing, then it probably means there is either a problem with the SD card or the SD card reader. Unfortunately, this is quite common as many 3D printers use very cheap readers and cards.

Re: Printer Stops sometimes

Hello,

i changed the SD-Card again and print 5 parts without Problems.
I thought the Problem was solved, but then again .. stop without any reason or error message.

I also did not turn on on any other things like lights or something which can be the reason.
I dont know what ele i can do or try?

Re: Printer Stops sometimes

Hi Matthias,

I have no solution for this, but Im sure that isn't an issue of S3D.

To make it clear, you can copy the gcode to an android tablet where the printing-software "GCodePrintr - Die 3D Druck App" from "Dietz" is installed (Google Play, free version is sufficent). And print it via USB.
GCodePrintr has the advantage to log all steps and you can read out the reason of an interruption.

When printing from a SD-card, S3D is out of range. Or the issue must be caused by the gcode, comming from S3D - but I don't believe so.

Nearly the same problem you can find actually in the German RepRap-forum here: http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?245,725690 but with Repetier-host and Slic3r (also not solved yet).

A futher step to solve the problem, use a ups uninterrupted power supply (usv unterbrechungsfreie stromversorgung) to exclude ups and downs of the 240 V current.

Good luck

Re: Printer Stops sometimes

Hallo Horst,

thanks for the Reply, i will definitly try the Android Software to see what error is reported.
I am also nearly sure that S3D is not the reason for the interrupted prints, but that is
a very usefull Forum with very helpful Members which gives helpful answers all the time.
So i try to find a answer here. If that is not allowed, i am sorry and will try another source to find out what happens.

Thanks anyway

Re: Printer Stops sometimes

I have used this program 2 yaers ago with a Multec-printer, but this printer was gone. At this time there were 2 versions online, one of them for free. Ok, things are changing but the risk of 3,50 € is low.

So I also think that it is absolutly no problem to speak here over a problem that is probably not caused by S3D. Nevertheless you must exclude this explicit.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking a question on this forum to see if anyone knows the answer....even if it's not S3D related. You have no need to apologise for anything as far as I, a S3D user and member of this forum, am concerned.

Unfortunately....I'm personally not able to be of assistance to you on this occasion.

Re: Printer Stops sometimes

Hello,

thats good :-)

Today the Printer stops again in the iddle of a print which was printed before without any stop.
So i was a bit frustrated and tuck the SD Card out and put it in again...and then the Printer resume to print.

Strange...isnt it ?

So it seams the Problem is the SD Card Reader or maybe the Card ( but the Card itself i changed 3 times )
Hmm, but so i can do nothing against it or is there anything ?
I think not :-(

Thanks all for the Help
Matthias
