when I change, add or delete infill angles, nothing changes, it just stays at whatever it started with, even if I delete them all and set the angle to 0 degrees, it doesn't change the infill angle. Checking the box "print every infill angle on each layer" doesn't seem to work for this.
That was partially the issue, but if you compare how version 2.2.2 handled external AND internal infill, there is some control that has been lost.
In version 2.2.2, setting the infill angle(s) (Infill Tab> Infill Angles/Add Angle/Remove angle) was global; whether external or internal, these angles would be used for rectilinear fills, for BOTH external AND internal infill.
In version 3.1.0 and above, the infill angles ONLY apply to internal infills, rectilinear EXTERNAL infills ignore those angles, and instead S3D always does a 45 and -45 alternating layer for the external. This sucks for clear parts with transparent filament, where the 45 and -45 crosshatching effect kills the transparency, I sometimes need ALL of the layers to be parallel with each other for transparent parts!
i am also missing the feature to set the solid infill angle.
Actually i want to print parts that would have an advantage of the "microchannels" that the top layers have so i want them in a specific direction.
So is there any way to get this feature back?
I work around it now by rotating my part but that way i can only print one part instead of a full buildplate.
