moveable infill

Hi,

thank you for your great Software!
I would like to have a moveable infill. Is this Feature already built in?

Re: moveable infill

What do you mean by "moveable infill"?

Hi,

I mean like an offset. Have a look at the generated infill. I like the size but I would like to move the infill to the right (or left up or down) like the red infill.

Especially for a part like a wing rib where strength is important, you are much better off designing it the way you want it, and print with no infill. Even if all you have is an STL file, you can still add internal support using one of the free cad programs.

Moveable Infill would be nice. Most slicers fixed the infill pattern to the Build Plate, so you can align the Infill simply by moving the model, but in S3D the Infill is moved with the model.

Yes, you are right, I did some Tests with self build support like I want it, but everything that I've designed weighs more than the calculated support from simplify. So I would like to use the generated one with an offset, that would be fine.

Re: moveable infill

This feature request seemed in line with what I would like so I thought I would revive it. Recently, I have been doing tensile testing and printing multiple samples at once. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the infill patterns were not consistent across all samples when printing multiple. I noticed this with my results as well. This seems to be related to the pattern being referenced to the print bed instead of the part? I explored using single and multiple processes and experienced the same results.

In any case, it would be great if there was control over the placement of the infill pattern so that in my situation, I could set the infill pattern placement and reproduce it across the other parts being printed. Here is a screenshot illustrating my scenario.

I have a Makercrap Replicator 5th Generation and even their Makerbot Desktop application has this feature. I used this feature all the time before I purchased Simplify3D.
