Really odd bridging issue

So I've been going nuts trying to print a new fan duct for my Duet Wifi Powered FFCP. See https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=723 if you want to know that story.

In any event I keep trying to get the bottom section to bridge and instead of getting the 3rd Outline Perimeter shell I keep getting a diagonal extrusion and the bridges are a total mess. I've re-sliced and printed the same part about 5 times. I just now realized it was missing that 3rd outline. So now I'm printing it with 2 instead of 3. Oddly enough the top bridging issue has worked perfectly before, the bad part is I don't know why or how. Before you ask I don't have the original g-code files. This problem appears to have vanished if I use 2 walls.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: Really odd bridging issue

Jeff,

Which printer is this ? Post your factory file. I am not sure how the the part is supposed to look. Is this a problem with bridging or they way the toolpaths are generated ?

If you look at my first post you'll see a link to the printer. I actually figured out the problem with the help of another group. I was using 3 perimeter shells and the 3rd ends up air printing and getting pulled across and diagonal. Reducing to two inner perimeters gets rid of the air print and everything works as expected. It was really hard to see in the S3D preview until I twisted and turned the window just the right way. Then it was...hey it's trying to glue ABS to the side of another line without anything at all to stick to, no overlap even.

Thanks,

Jeff
