Changing speed during print

Hi,

I have a print with two quite different halves. The first is very standard and can be printed quickly, while the second consists of lots of thin parts which I need to print slower.

Is there anyway to change the speed half way through the print using Simplify3D. I can't see any but thought I'd double check in case I missed something.

I'm thinking I might need to alter the gcode myself but have not done this before so just trying to research what would be required. If anyone has any advice here I would really appreciate any tips or resources.

I did find this comment on another forum so hoping I could potentially add the M220 command halfway through the gcode where I need it.

"You can also adjust a global speed modifier in Marlin to suit your needs. Impatient? M220 S150 will speed up everything to 150%. M220 S75 will slow it down to three-fourths of the planned gcode speed. M220 S100 will restore timing to what the slicer produced."

Cheers,

Chris

Re: Changing speed during print

I would just use 2 processes. That's the easiest way to do this in Simplify3D. You can also use the same idea if you wanted to use different infill percentages for different parts of your print. It allows you to change any settings you want actually for different regions which is nice.

They have a tutorial that explains it all here: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/tuto ... f-a-model/

Cool! That looks like it will definitely help.

I had wondered what different processes were used for, so now I can try them out and see what I can do.

Thanks for your help, I'll report back once I've tried it out.

Re: Changing speed during print

Just came across my old post and thought I'd report back as I said I would.

Using multiple processes works a treat is exactly what I was looking for so thanks a lot!
