Simplify stops working

Hi,
So Last night I was printing. I had just finished a print and was starting to prep the next print when simplify stop working got the box with the windows can look on the internet for a solution or quit the program. So I restarted the program and got the same thing after trying to load the part. I then restarted the computer and restarted the program same issue stopped while trying to load. So I came here and looked up what was close to my problem. I followed what it said which was to reset the settings and restart the computer. When the program starts I need to re-input in my info which is fine. The program starts and then I try to load a model file. It stops again. What can I do???? I am in the middle of a project and really need to fix this.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Simplify stops working

If I remember rightly, the official line for this sort of issue is to check you have the latest video drivers.

If you're on the latest driver...or have recently had a driver update, you could try rolling back a version.

If still an issue, create a dump file and email it to S3D support and ask them for help.

Re: Simplify stops working

I have not updated anything but the program when it was released and I was just printing with it. I did not even close and reopen the program. I was just going to start a new part while it was still open. I have done this at least 100 times with no problems.
I have opened a ticket.
Thanks

Re: Simplify stops working

Uncheck the box > TOOLS > Options > Save and restore ... restart the program - ok?

If not,

reset Simplify (menue Help ...). You must repeat all settings - ok?

If not

uninstall the programm, but totally; read the FAQ. Download once more and reinstall it new.

I'm also MS-Win 7 user.
MS has changed the update-mode for those windows users: updates are imported automaticly on the PC, you can't avoid it.
At the moment I have no difficults with S3D but with the CAD I had the last 2 weeks just a serie of program crashes, mostly when I clicked with the mouse.
Now I'm clean without doing anything. I hope!

Re: Simplify stops working

I have done all of the steps you have listed but it still stops when I try to load a file. After the last install Adobe Acrobat X Pro asked to accept its terms/conditions I have not installed Acrobat.

Re: Simplify stops working

A very strange thing!

I think S3D is running without any liaison to Acrobat except the Reader for PDF-Files. But that can't be merged to the import / opening of a STL-file.
The properties of STL are fixed to "C:\Program Files\Simplify3D-3.1.1\Simplify3D.exe" [=standard] ?

Please attache your factory-file (>>> Menue Files > Save as factory) and the files concerned if possible separately . If it / they are coming from ThingIverse.com please tell me a link.
Such a reaction of the program I knew in earlier times (version 1.x , 2.x) when a STL was corrupt or not watertide or had a missmatch with scaling. The old versions also stoped working when the object was to great for the given dimension of the print-room.
How ever, try this: Menue >>> Tools > Options > Models >>> uncheck the 1st and 2nd box (Automatically scale / -center) or check ON when unchecked.

Best regards

Re: Simplify stops working

Hi Horst,
I just tried what you said and it let me load and process for print and then it stopped. I thought maybe it was a problem with the usb stick so I put the files on the desktop. I then opened the program again and as soon as I tried to load a file it stopped. When this started was just after I had finished a print and wanted to print the same file again at a different scale. When I reloaded the file it stopped working. The file I was printing is a 3d scan that I did and it printed fine that first time. as well as on my other machines. I am printing on a Leapfrog Dual Creatr. I have 3 of them each one on there own computer.
Thanks
