Color Change on Single Extruder

I am wanting to do a color change on some items that I am printing. My printer has a bowden tube set up - not sure that really matters when it comes t color change.

I am trying to figure out.... is it even possible to print the part in the primary color up to the mm mark where the color change starts and finish the print.

Then swap the color and then start a new print but at the height of the new color?

I am printing something black with white text on top.

This way I am thinking I don't have to be sitting right there waiting for the color change. I can finish black and then swap to white and start the print at the correct mm height.

Perhaps this is a stupid way of thinking... just trying to figure out the best approach without going to a dual extruder.

Yeah, you can do this using multiple processes in S3D. Just setup a different process for each color that you want to print. Use the start/stop at height options on the Advanced tab.

Here's a discussion I was involved in on how to do a filament swap on every layer using S3D with reprapfirmware:

I have it working pretty well!
