Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

I last used 30% support underspeed and was using a few extra lines in my tool change script for PLA left and PVA right. The extra lines changed the acceleration and jerk for the PLA and for PVA extruders. It looks like from the video you're using PVA in your right extruder so this should work for you as well.

support underspeed 30%
PLA Accel: 1500 Jerk: 15
PVA Accel: 400 Jerk: 5

Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

I've tried it a few times and I've been able to get it working about 50% of the time. The new fix makes the plastic much more likely to stay attached to the bottom layer and I'm really glad you could help.

I still have a TON of issues with S3D though and if you would allow me to PM you I would be super happy about it. Currently, the PLA extruder occasionally extrudes when I use PLA/PVA support. Additionally, the infill seems to be sparse. If I could PM you that would be great.

I don't have any problem with helping you here or in a PM.

If you're extruding PLA when you mean to be extruding PVA for your supports, I'd check your extruder assignment at the top of the Support tab.

If your infill is coming out a bit sparse, there's an entire guide to fixing that issue on their print quality guide.

I'd like to PM you but for some reason it says you've disabled it?

Also, my most recent WTF moment is that the same gcode that was working last night no longer wants to extrude PVA. This is in spite of no changes on my part and it working fine extruding other builds (so no clogs) XD

I don't remember ever doing that. I've enabled it again. :)

You may want to look into setting temperature setpoints for your PVA extruder if there is a certain point in your print where it will stop extruding PVA. Otherwise the PVA will tend to junk up inside the nozzle.

Also you could uncomment the idle temperature portion of the tool change script. Keep in mind this would incur a lot of added printing time while you wait for temperature changes.
