Separate external and internal surfaces Z-height

Hi All,

I have a general question about Simplify3D.

Is it possible to print the infill of a model at a different layer height to the external shell layers?

For example to built a cube 10mmx10mmx10mm is it possible to print the outer three shell layers at 0.1mm then one infill layer at 0.2mm.

This way the total number of shell layers would be 100 and the total number of infill layer would be 50.

This would save heaps of time.

I was thinking that if I create two processes.

In the first process I could set the layer height to 0.1mm with no infill and have 3 top, 3 bottom and 3 shell layers

In the second process I could set the layer height to 0.2mm with 20% infill and have Zero top, Zero bottom and Zero shell layers

Would this method work?

Do you mean TWO shell layers at 0.1mm and then one infill layer at 0.2mm? I'm guessing you meant 2 outer shell layers and not 3.

If so, you can do that really easily. Just set your layer height on the Layer tab to 0.1mm, then go to the Infill tab and change the "Combine Infill Every X layers" to 2. Then it will combine the infill every 2 layers, so you get exactly what you want - two 0.1mm thick outline layers and one 0.2mm thick infill layer.

Wow. That's easy. I will give that ago next time I'm using the software. Thank you so much for the prompt response. Much appreciated. :) :P :)
