Hi everyone. This is a post requesting that bridge identification be implemented fully to be functional.
I started having an issue with the timing of the fan starts. Specifically for bridging overrides where timing of the fan is critical. Unfortunately the fan is coming on well after the first bridging area has completed. After viewing in tool path feature view, it seems that Simplify3D does not consider perimeters that bridge as a "bridge". So essentially the fan (or other bridging overrides) are not coming on at all for the perimeter portion of a bridged section. Which is extremely problematic for many things, especially those with multiple perimeters. That's a lot of sagging filament before the fan kicks in for the infill! I print a lot of enclosures and things that have openings to the outside. All of these will have sagging first layer perimeters. Simplify absolutely NEEDS to somehow consider perimeter bridges as bridges! Without that, no matter what we do, we have messy bridges. Unfortunately right now, there's no way around this other than to manually add fan starts for whole layers or layer sections (which isn't ideal for strength in many materials).
Thanks and hopefully we can get this addressed soon.
