Profiles and Processes - all lost despite export

Ok - this process and profile system always was the weakest point of the software.

Right now i switched from the osx version to windows, and already having lost my settings in the past, i exported the last factory file that i had open, and the fff profiles thinking i am safe this time..

..aand its all gone again.

I tried to import them now, and yes they show up with the proper name, but not much else.. all settings are lost - even the printer defaults..

I don't think it is about version numbers - and actually i don't want to lose anymore time with this.. i can read out some of my values from the .fff xml, still this has to be fixed as i more than once lost my settings, and surely am not the only one.

edit:
so the second time around some settings came back (first import the fff, then open the old file - maybe because of that, maybe not..)
I assume some settings are saved in the file along with the geometry, and some not.. And a quick glance over the quickstart pdf and the support section of the website is not saying anything useful about this.

I get it that the possible combinations of printers and profiles on the same software installation pose a problem - but this needs to be addressed.

Re: Profiles and Processes - all lost despite export

If you want to export your profiles, you need to go to File > Export FFF Profile and then transfer the .fff file to the other computer.

If you're trying to use factory files to save all your profiles, you're just asking for trouble. Use the profile system already built into the software and the commands above.
