bugs, errors, crashes

After using SF3D for several weeks now I regret paying for this software and this is why:

1. Software is crashing randomly on my Mac even after a clean install and being the only software installed. (No, my Mac is not the problem, if have absolutely no issues with any software at all. It's just SF3D.)
2. Profilemanagement is not working. So it took me several hours to find out the best settings to print colorFabbs XT-CF20. I saved all parameters and even exported the FFF profile. After a restart of SF3D the parameters there was still the profile but not with the latest parameters. So I deleted the profile and imported the saved one. The parameters of the saved profile were definitely not the ones I saved.
3. If you change a parameter on one of your profiles it is not possible that the software updates it on all opened files. So you have to pick a different profile, click on "don't save changes" and click on the updated profile again. If you had to create 20 layers this process will take some time.
4. It is not clear what parameters change when you change material or print quality-tab because there is no indication for that.
5. You can not rename profiles. You have to save them as a new one.
6. While using SF3D it happens very often that the left mouse button (I have a trackpad so there is no hardware problem) seems to be clicked and if you hover the mouse accidentally over the processes-"delete" button you will delete all processes without being able to undo. If you hover over a process it will be opened.
7. Although creating different processes is as important as creating support structures you can not find the "variable settings wizard" in the toolbar for fast usage.
8. You can not customize the toolbar. Even if you put it on the top of the screen it will be on the right side of the screen again after one restart.
9. Profiles will not be saved reliably. So if you just click on "update profile" you have a 50/50 chance that after a restart all "saved" changes are gone.

I am not a software expert but I think there are some serious programming issues in SF3D. I have never ever used such a faulty and extremely unreliable software. I mean how can it be possible that you save a profile and the parameters that were saved in a file are not the ones you actually saved?!

Re: bugs, errors, crashes

As someone who's been using S3D on a Mac for over a year, I can't say I've encountered any of these issues. If you want to get help on these problems, you are probably going to have to give more exact steps for what you are doing to cause the problem. If people can't recreate the issue themselves, it's going to be very hard to get any type of useful advice.

1) when the software crashes, you can click on Report and then More Info and post the crash log here. That may help the developers
2) I use this function all the time, and I've never had problems with it saving changes. You said this happens a lot, so try to list the exact steps you are doing so that others can try to recreate the problem.
3) not sure what you mean by updating it in all open profiles. Do you mean the processes you have loaded? If you want to change a single setting across multiple processes, you can just used grouped processes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbQfifnzL4Q)
4) there's many threads on this forum about how to see that. Just export the profile and you can see exactly what is changed for each auto configure option
6) I have a trackpad on my Mac too, but I've never seen this happen. perhaps you have tap-to-click enabled for your trackpad? That can be a bit touchy, so you might want to try disabling that if you think it's causing accidental clicks. Also, if you ever delete a process, you CAN undo it (just click Ctrl-Z)
