Supported Overhang Infill Angle

I have a part with a small overhang exhibiting some weird behavior. For whatever reason, the infill angle for the first bottom layer of the tab over the support material does not follow the set angles. This is regardless of support infill angle(s) and internal/external infill angle(s).

Infill angles are set to 45/-45, but it always generates this single layer differently. It is always the same angle with respect to the model regardless of model rotation on the plate. I originally thought the issue was an artifact of this particular model, but the same behavior is present on a 20mm test cube lifted and supported...

Any ideas how to change this, or am I stuck with it? Screen capture included below.

Never mind, figured out Simplify3D was treating it as a bridging process. Changing the bridging settings altered the tab's first layer behavior.
