1. No Auto-Rotate View
View > Auto-Rotate View was not available. I have no idea of how to get it back or if it is even possible to.
2. Rendering Problems with Some Acceleration Modes
My solid objects (model and build plate/printer) were transparent. I loaded the same model on PC 1 that was running S3D 4.0.0 and all was fine.
Googling for the problem/solution netted nothing.
A comparison of settings between 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 revealed new configuration items in Tools > Options > Visualization > Acceleration Mode
This looked like a good place to start so I changed the value from Automatic to Disable Hardware Acceleration, restarted S3D and it fixed the rendering issue. Of course I couldn't leave 'well enough' alone and had to try the other settings. Compatibility Mode introduced the transparent rendering issue again.
Things really went sideways when I tried Native Hardware Acceleration mode. S3D would no longer start on my machine!
I tried almost everything including disabling all but the main monitor/video card, rebooting, registry hacks to disable video hardware acceleration in the Win10 OS, deleting the S3 settings in my user profile and uninstalling and re-installing S3D. Nothing fixed it.
Finally I recovered S3D when I went rooting through the registry and found the accelerationMode key and set it to 0. This changed the setting to automatic allowing S3D to start and then I promptly changed it to Disable Hardware Acceleration.
This is the full path of the registry key that sets the Acceleration Mode.
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Simplify3D\S3D-Software\MainOptions\accelerationMode
S3d 4.0.1 Acceleration Mode = Automatic (default) = BAD

S3d 4.0.1 Acceleration Mode = Disable Hardware Acceleration = GOOD

Hope this helps save someone else some time.
Cheers,
