Would this workflow work?

I'm looking at buying S3D and am just trying to figure out for sure what the workflow would be. My goal would be to use S3D on my laptop to generate out the gcode and then send that to octoprint on a beaglebone black to print remotely to my printer. Does this sound like it works with S3D? I couldn't tell if S3D wanted to replace the octoprint/prconsole/pronterface layer altogether. Would I lose any feature by doing this, or is all the magic that S3D works just to make a better gcode file?

Finally, does S3D have any built in features that would make this work better, such as automatically sending the file to octoprint? Doesn't seem so from my forum searches.

That's pretty much my workflow. Works great. Octoprint rocks!

Re: Would this workflow work?

S3D is considered all-in-one software, so it does attempt to replace a 3D Printer host such as pronterface. The magic, however, is through the G-Code generation as the goodies are in the slicer options. There would be no issue generating the G-Code through S3D, saving the G-Code, then manually sending it through OctoPrint or any other host/G-Code sender. I do not believe there is an automatic way through S3D, however, to send it through OctoPrint.
