Splitting a stl object in sub parts.

I have some stl object and want to print it in 4 sub part and then glue the part together after printing...

What simple free tool can split a stl object in smaller parts. If VIACAD can do it, i don't know how to...

Slic3r cann do it and then save as .stl

i've not used it yet, but many use meshmixer.
