Nozzle lightly touching print....

Just purchased and switched to S3D last night and whilst this test print https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2219103 is already looking much better I noticed the nozzle seemed to touch the print during the upper layers. Just curious if this is normal and is some method S3D utilizes to minimize stringing or something or if I need to do some investigation into an actual issue.

Re: Nozzle lightly touching print....

When a printer is extruding a layer, it's normals that it's moving directly on top of that layer while printing. So what you're saying sounds normal.

If it get's to be a problem, you can add some Z-lift and then disable the "only retract when crossing open spaces" option on the Advanced tab so that it lifts for every move.

Working from S3D's official troubleshooting guide, their suggestions are to verify the filament diameter is as accurate as possible and to decrease your extrusion multiplier.
