Varying temperature for wood filament

Hi,

I am playing around with wood filament and the color of the filament changes already within 10 degrees or so. When I play around manually with the temperature during the print I can get a nice, even more wood-like texture on the print so I was wondering if there could be a function for that in Simplify3D? Something like modulating the temperature with basic waves sine/square/triangle and being able to modify amplitude and frequency.

Going further the software might even be able to make a certain pattern appear on the perimeter of the print so that it could look like it was actually carved out of a piece of wood. :o ..but I guess that would require slowing down the print quite a lot to keep up with the temperature changes (especially down).

Anyway, just a thought, I guess making a script for something like this shouldn't be too hard but I didn't look into that yet.

Cheers,
