[FIXED] Raft for support only

HI there,

as the title said, I'm looking for a way to add raft only under support material touching the printbed.

I don't want a raft everywhere under the printed model, but I need more "stability" under support pillars.

I hope I can do this with S3D, thanks for your help :)

Re: Raft for support only

This would save a lot of print time for what I am doing as well.. Would be surprised if it can be done as I have seen nothing that would do that.

Re: Raft for support only

Try using "Support Base Layers". It will provide a good base to supports....but it won't look like a raft!

Re: Raft for support only

I agree. If you can get a first layer to stick good then the support base layer works well. Either way it should help.

Re: Raft for support only

I've try with Support Base Layers base he is also creating these "base layers" when the support start from the model itself, this will cause a lot of issue to remove it after. I'm looking for this feature with a checkbox named "only for supports attached to printbed" ^^.

Maybe a usefull idea for future updates ? ^^

Will the dropdown "Support Type" with an option From Build Platform Only be what you're requesting??? If so....its there!

Re: Raft for support only

I think the support base layers work as it should: it does not put support base layers on supports that originate on the model. However, the dense support layers will put dense supports at both the top and bottom of supports that originate on the model.

Have you tried it? I have:

Support only from the bed & not above the model to an underside above it......and (in my case) seven support base layers on the bed!

If you want support above the model as well....that doesn't have base layers, then that's easy as well. Use the wizard to create two processes....and set just the lower process to have base layers. And in case you don't believe me:
