[Solved] Missing Layers in Preview Mode

what do you think would be causing these strange gaps in my layers, half the model has the layer, although the speed drops down to low, but the other half of the model there are only gaps. the gaps dont show on the model itself when preview mode is not on.

i went ahead with the print and there is definitely missing layers at that height, anyone know what would cause that?

Odds are there is a problem with the model. Try running the file through one of the fixers like make printable website of netfabb.

Also you could try reducing the layer height just to see if it makes any difference.

A quicker thing to try is to go to the Mesh menu and select Separate Connected Surfaces. This will turn your single model in the sidebar to multiple models if it’s a modeling problem and will likely allow it to slice correctly. It has worked for every faulty model I’ve thrown at it.

One word of caution: If you’re printing multiple objects, make sure you get them arranged before invoking Separate Connected Surfaces because it really does create multiple models on the bed. If you tell S3D to auto-arrange in that case, the separated models will probably get scattered all over.

How does it work every time? It just tells me I have 26 models and it still won't slice properly. Nothing but missing layers so I don't see how this helps.
