[FIXED] Unable to Connect to Flashforge Finder

I purchased Simplify3D a few days ago and have been unable to connect it to my Flashforge Finder via USB. The printer works fine with FlashPrint so I know there is no problem with the hardware. I noticed that the firmware profile is “Flashforge Dreamer Firmware” – there does not appear to be a profile for my Finder.

Any ideas how I can get the software to connect to my printer?

I have been informed by technical support that my Flashforge Finder with its current firmware is incompatible with Simplify3D which is a bit disappointing. I have asked for a refund. Hopefully this issue will be fixed in a future release.

It has been many months since this issue was first reported, it appears that s3d isn't inclined to fix it. The problem as I see it is the the flashforge finder loads the driver as a "3d printer" and not a com port, so s3d cannot "see" the printer.
Looks like I'll be asking for a refund also.

Have you sent an email to our support team with regards to this USB connection issue? Currently our entire team is working on the next software update. When this issue is resolved, we can notify you via email, if you have contacted our support team about the issue.

I’m happy to state that this issue should be resolved now in the latest 4.1.0 release. Our team successfully tested connections with this machine and had no issues connecting via USB. This was just one of many improvements to the software. All of which are detailed on our Release Notes page.
