Everyone is working hard to finish the last few remaining items for the release, and again, we are planning to have everything completed within the next month.

They're planning, so no guarantees

Of cause no guarantee. No one should expect that after 10 Month without updates.
The Update-Frequency is slowing down every version. So I expect S3D 5.0 @ 2020 ;-)

It seems they are not using the Scrum... or they are using extreme long sprints (with variable sprint length)... :)

I believe the new version will give us real improvement and features (mainly on parameter handling side)!!!
I pull for them and checking the site hour by hour

10 months, 4.0.1 doesn't even count in my opinion, it's not visible through the built-in update management and didn't add any futures as I remember.

Re: S3D Development Update - Aug 2018

Honestly im just hoping they add things that can be developed quickly as they're developed...

A beta branch or something.

Like new infill patterns, etc. that arent worth an entire version jump.

In any case, we're getting veeeeeery close to the end of the month. I would like a *little* more info on what's in store, so hopefully the update releases on time

Yeah,
It's actually pretty frustrating once you realize they have a huge user base that could give them real, useful feedback on their releases reducing the need for as many in house testers (if they have any) and could speed up the development cycle.

There really is no excuse for Simplify3D for their lackluster recent updates, 3.1 was the last big step change. 4.0 really only added improved thin wall behavior. so I have no idea hat they've been doing for the last 2-3 years.

Hopefully we'll find out later today, but I need to lower my expectations.

It's a shame... they have given a brilliant slicer but they cannot provide a good, usable GUI for it :(

How is it possible????

I've checked a lot of alternatives, they have much better GUI (all of them) BUT with much weaker slicer ability. S3D should (at least) learn from their competitors if they have no idea for how to...

I like the GUI of S3D, even it is simple.. it is structured and fast. Cura is the slowest GUI ever (even with PCIe SSD and 6 Core Xeon it is unusable) . Every Slicer perfoms better than Cura
