No, it's every time. In fact, I've just had to do it again as I shut down my PC earlier. It happens as soon as I do a restart.

Just throwing out guesses here but I wonder if there is something that makes the S3D software think it is starting for the first time after install each time you open it?
Do you get the log-in dialog window for S3D when you start it?
Maybe it needs to save a file after a successful login but Linux isn't letting it?
