Model wont slice after slight edit :(

My model was fine:
2.PNG
edited it slightly, a little narrower, a little shorter, and now its impossible to print
1.PNG
the CAD is solidworks2016,
I had the issue with s3D 3.xx (cant remember the numbers), upgraded to the latest, still the same issue.
Went back to solidworks and tried all sorts of settings on the resolution of the stl, no progress there (S3D exactly the same)
Ran all the repair stuff that would run in s3d, got nowhere with that.

So it looks like i hit on some sort of dimensions in my model that S3d just fails to slice correctly.
Whats with that?

I've attached the STL

I'll print the parts on a printer that accepts gcode instead of x3g. I just cant get a decent slicer that will make x3G files that run on my flashforge creator pro. I'm stuck with this s3d issue.

Re: Model wont slice after slight edit :(

Your model has some issues what S3D can't repair while slicing.

NETFABB has fixed it, fixed-file is attached.

Thanks for posting that fixed file.
However although this STL opens and looks right in solidworks, it refuses to load in my version of Simplify3D, which I dont understand.

Re: Model wont slice after slight edit :(

Thats one of the mystery of S3D we must live with

I think S3D is more sensible than other programs and especially if thin walls are concerned. Certain improvements you can reach with the settings in Tab Advanced. And also with playing with the Extrusion Width. If the wall is thinner as the Extrusion Width is set, S3D denied the print, other programs feed it up.

Well, file, import doesnt work
but opening it from the file explorer ans selecting S3D did work....
I then saved it as ASCii rather than binary and it behaves as normal and opens from file, import then.

Re: Model wont slice after slight edit :(

Sorry,
I have no idea, there is no problem to import the fixed STL-file (for me).
