I am trying to print with a single perimeter shell which is 0.4 mm thick using my Prusa I3 MK2 and a 0.4 mm nozzle.
When I slice the STL into S3D the exterior walls are missing, until I turn on the allow single extrusion walls feature on the advance print settings tab. The print comes out fine apart from some vertical lines on the print surface. These lines are not completely random as they track up the print in a vertical direction, but they start and finish in a random looking fashion. I have tried this print on 3 different printers with different filaments and get similar results.
The lines are small regions where the print is thicker on both sides of the wall, by a small amount. I wonder if this could be related to imperceptible variations in the model to which the dynamic extrusion process is reacting. Ideally I would like to get the walls printed using a single perimeter, but this doesn't work as the walls are not reproduced in the sliced model.
I would appreciate any suggestions that may help to remedy this problem.
