Adding more file support...

By this I mean opening files with a neutral format like STEP and/or IGES written by most CAD programs.No more problems with badly created stl files with open tiles and non manifold errors.

Great suggestion! I'll monitor this thread to gauge other user interest in these file formats being investigated for inclusion.

I think at some point you have to put on the brakes for trying to make S3D a do-it-all program.
It is supposed to be a slicer and not a CAD program.

I'm not asking S3D to become a CAD software, just the ability to slice thru other file formats that describes in a better way the geometries of our designs and possibly with a better resolution in creating the path. STL and OBJ files can be huge with all those triangles or polygones. It can also be visible on your prints, especialy with circles ( you can see the segments composing it).
