Layer Change Script questions

Hey there, I'm trying to do the fancy layer-by-layer timelapse picture taking on my QidiTech printer. Like this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is10iN43UjI&t=504s) I have figured out the X, Y coordinates and the following script goes and presses the button

Code: Select all

G1 X-100 Y100 F50 ; Move to camera button
G1 X-105 Y100 F9000 ; Move in quickly
G1 X-90 Y100 F9000 ; Move out quickly
However, when I put that into the Layer Change Script it makes it so the extruder doesn't go back to what it was doing. In that video, the guy talks about absolute positioning, but when I add that line above the code it gets even worse. What am I doing wrong? I just want the extruder to move to a set of coordinates between layers to press a camera button and then go back to work. Help! I'm so close! lol

Re: Layer Change Script questions

Are you printing via SD card / USB Flash drive or USB streaming the print to your machine? If streaming, you should be able to see in the communication log if there is an error message coming back from the printer which could possibly explain the pausing behavior. If via SD / Flash drive you can attach your g-code and factory file here. I'd be happy to see if the issue is more apparent with the whole file rather than just the layer change script.
