I am brand new to the software and still learning/experimenting with S3D. We've had our 3D Printer (CR 10 clone), since November and have it setup and printing pretty well with Cura.
I bought Simplify3D because of the supports reviews (the supports in Cura are much harder to remove than we'd like) but have a problem with them.
I have added brims and 2 base layers to the supports for my models, but the small (x/y wise) tall supports in some areas can break easily if bumped by the print head because they are so thin.
Can I make the supports thicker? Not the density of the "rows", the actual thickness of the support walls themselves.
Also, the automatic support generation doesn't always seem to add supports where they are needed.
In the pics below, I am printing the free VIL Coyote model from Thingiverse. There should be supports generated by default under the hands, but as shown in the pics they weren't and it caused print errors. I think I read where I can place supports manually, but shouldn't it have auto generated these? What settings do I need to check/adjust?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
