Need help with settting

Hello,

My prints are coming out with spikes and some of the walls are ragged and split.

I tried changing the "coasting distance" and later the "retraction distance" but that didn't seem to help.

Should I work with the oozing settings?

Thank you.

Re: Need help with settting

Will do. Just want to post I did some progress by diminishing the extruder temperature and adding a bit of cooling.

I am printing 1 per shell and settings that worked were for a .4 nozzle with a manual extrusion width set to 0.42. I order to save on weight I was trying to thin the 1 perimeter shell and using a 0.4 nozzle and manual extrusion width of 0.25. That is the result you see.

I'll post the settings. Machine is a Prusa MK3S

Thanks.

Re: Need help with settting

If you are a beginner it is recommended to gain experience first with standard settings.

Printing with undersized extrusion (relative to the nozzles boring) is always critical because the extruded material contacts the nozzles bottom only on its backside (relative to the heads movement ) . The molden material is not pressed to the previous layer in the way that standard settings do it.

Re: Need help with settting

Did some tests and managed to print with a lower temperature and some cooling. The layers seem to stick really well to each other still.

Thank you for your help
