multiple windows open at the same time

We're all used to multitasking. Having many apps running on the go and many windows in each app. Maybe even having a window with a second operating system running in it and a whole more apps and windows.

In the context of that it's a bit of a limitation only being able to open one S3D window at a time. If one has more than one printer up and running and is preparing files for each of them, it's a drag not to have all relevent windows and settings open at the same time. Not unusual after a print is up and running to decide to stop it and review settings. Major drag if you've already started working on something else in S3D.

REQUEST: to be able to have multiple slicer windows open in S3D.

You can have multiple instances of S3D open at any time.

I usually have from 2-5 open depending on the print jobs I have to do.

But how do you do it?

Whenever I hit "new" it seems to close the current window?

btw. I'm on Mac OSX

Just start a second session of S3D. Like you were starting it for the first time.
I am not on Mac but I think it works the same.

Ah no, sigh.... on a Mac you can't launch the same application twice.

open your terminal
then run the following:
Code: Select all
open -n /Applications/Simplify3D-4.0.1/Simplify3D.app/

I think you will need to modify the string to the current version.
If it fails contact support since it seems possible.
