Unable to Connect to Flashforge Finder (AGAIN)

Hello!

As it seems S3D doesn't have support to print over WIFI for the Flashforge Finder, I thought I could get by using the USB connection.
But trying to find the printer in the Machine Control Panel didn't work at all. I did find an earlier post here on the Forums about it - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9469&p=45824&hilit= ... der#p39516 claiming that this problem was fixed in the 4.1.0 version of S3D and that there was no issue to conenct to the Finder anymore.

So, since it has been fixed, how come I can not for my life find my printer? I can see the Printer as a device in the device manager, so it's not a port. Can anyone shed some light on this really annoying thing?

I really hope there is any solution for these problems - because if I can not use WiFi OR USB, then I will just have to ask for a refund as it seems this software is not for me.

Are you able to see the USB Device in the Ports drop-down in Simplify3D? If this is not populating then you may not have the drivers for the Finder installed on your computer. They usually come on the flash drive that is packaged with the machine I believe.

Re: Unable to Connect to Flashforge Finder (AGAIN)

Hello, thanks for your reply.
I cannot find the printer in the drop-down menu. I DO have the drivers installed. You get the drivers when you install the Flashprint slicer software.
I can see the printer in Win 10 device manager. But it is NOT listed as a com port, but rather as a 3d-printer. If I use Flasprint slicer, it has no problem finding the printer with USB or WiFi, so I'm pretty sure the drivers are working as they should. But as the printer isn't listed as a port in Win 10, it doesn't show up in the port drop-down in S3D. My Win 10 is in Swedish unfortunately, but I attached some picture for you.

Re: Unable to Connect to Flashforge Finder (AGAIN)

Are you currently using the most recent version(4.1.2) of Simplify3D? The printer will identify as a USB Device but should still populate in the Ports drop-down found in the Machine Control Panel. If there are still no options populating in this drop-down then please type listdevices into the prompt in the Machine Control Panel and hit enter. This will return information about any USB devices detected by Simplify3D.

Re: Unable to Connect to Flashforge Finder (AGAIN)

Hello!

Yes, I do run the latest version of S3D.

Thanks for the suggestion with the listdevices command.
However .... it didn't help all the way.

When I send the listdevices command, at first the dropdown is indeed populated with the printer. But after a couple of seconds, it disappear, and doesn't show up again until I issue listdevices command again. I have tried switching the usb-port on the computer but I still get the same result.

Re: Unable to Connect to Flashforge Finder (AGAIN)

I have this exact same problem with the Flashforge Dreamer NX.
My PC is running Windows 10 and I have the latest version of S3D.
The Flashforge software installs the printer device as a 3d Printer, so there is no "COM" port to connect to

Solution>
I found if you type "listdevices" the USB device for the printer shows up.
If you immediately click [Connect], it will connect and work properly after that.
