Support Perimeter Option

I would like to see a feature added which allows a user to add an outline/perimeter to support material. Sometimes when printing S3D instructs the machine to lay down Dense Support or Primary Build Material and the movement path starts/stops on top of empty space (nothing underneath it). I know that this may make it more difficult to remove the support material; however, it will possibly lead to being able to use less dense support material (this saving time/money).

As a side benefit, this could also help make the support material more structurally sound, which sometimes becomes an issue when printing really tall objects (the support material deflects or buckles due to colulmn loading issues)

Thanks for the feature request! This has been suggested already before so I'll add your feedback and ideas to the existing feature request. I'll also be watching this thread for any additional interest or ideas.

Thanks again for the request!

Re: Support Perimeter Option

I would really like this feature, Tiertime printers have this option and it really adds strength to the support structures.

Re: Support Perimeter Option

+1 I'm waiting a long time for this feature now. Currently for dissovable support i need to create a second part which is the support structure.
