It'd be much easier to report possible bugs if we could post images and upload files. It'd also let other users, potentially, either reproduce the issues, or point out why it might not be a bug, but simply a misconfiguration.
Can this happen?

You should be able to post pictures as an attachment. When making a post click the "Upload attachment" tab right below the posting window. Choose the file you want to upload and click "Add the file". Are those options showing up for you?

Ah. Didn't see the size limitation message before, or it didn't appear. Attachments limited to 256k.
