Simplify3D trying to print impossible supports

Just bought simplify3d, trying some miniatures out on it.

However, it's trying to print practically impossible support structures. Here are a few examples:

Image This one is a one layer thick, skinny structure. No way it won't collapse while being printed.

Image Here are a few more. Again, same issue, these have absolutely no rigidity.

I've already set my support resolution to 1.0, I can't get it any lower. Any idea how to properly support miniatures?

Re: Simplify3D trying to print impossible supports

A couple things I would recommend. First would be to use a little Extra Inflation Distance. This is found in the Support tab of the Process Settings. This will expand the cross-section of the supports making those little guys much more stable.

Also, if you need a Support Resolution technically below 1mm you can scale your model up, support it with 1mm supports and then scale it back down. Just keep in mind that the pillars act as a sort of masking system to determine where the pattern you set in the Process Settings will be placed. So if you don't like the way your supports are placed it may be more helpful to play around with the Support Infill Density and Infill Angles.
