Preventing Simplyfy3D from automatically connecting

While I love Simplyfy3D for slicing, Repetier Host's preview is superior and so I am still using it to connect to machine. The problem is I want to use Simplyfy3D in the background but when I open it, it seizes control of the printer and ruins whatever print I have in process. It's done this to me enough times that I now need a solution to prevent me from going mad......

So, I have tried pointing it to a different port, wrong baud rate and it still seems to return and interfere.

I am on a Mac, so is there a way to prevent it from attempting to connect on it's own or whatever it's doing to take over and stop printing?

Thank.

Re: Preventing Simplyfy3D from automatically connecting

In the menu bar, go to Simplify3D > Preferences. Disable automatic USB device detection.

Thank you.

I looked and looked but I just kept overlooking it I guess.
