Simplify 3D trying to make impossible supports

Hey everyone,

I'm new to Simplify 3D, recently bought it. I've been pleased so far with it, far better than Cura imo.

However, sometimes ( too often actually ) it tries to make quite impossible supports, that hang out in air.

I tried everything, but couldn't fix it.

Here's an example:

I'm open to any ideas! Thanks in advance!

Re: Simplify 3D trying to make impossible supports

Reduce both the support pillar resolution and extra inflation distance.

Re: Simplify 3D trying to make impossible supports

Thank you for you response, I've tried it, but didn't made big difference.

Extra inflation distance was already at zero, support pillar resolution can go low to 1.0mm, but the result is almost the same. Still goes out of the model and in rectangular forms, which makes it impossible to print. ...

Re: Simplify 3D trying to make impossible supports

How small is the model here? Could you post a Factory File? Either way if the support pillars are too large even at 1mm you can always scale the model up 200%, place 1mm supports and then scale the whole thing down to 100% again. This will scale the support pillars as well.
