Extrusion issues?

Hey there,
I am having some difficulty getting my printer tuned up as it should be. Sometimes I think I just get lucky and I get an okay print. I went through the calibration process and everything is as it should be for the most part. Dimensionally speaking it prints well and I have checked the extruder calibrations multiple times. In the pictures below are of a ghosting/ringing test print to try and get that fixed, but I have to face a new problem first. I really think this is an issue with the after retraction. I currently have it setup as -1.00 extra restart. I just wanted to here everyone's thoughts on this to make sure I am on the right path.

-Thank you

The Y side of your print reminds me of this set of troubleshooting steps. https://www.simplify3d.com/support/prin ... -of-print/

Re: Extrusion issues?

Hey,
Thank you for the reply! I checked out that link and I almost think I have or have had both extrusion problems and mechanical. The filament I was using in both my printers was of the same brand and color. So my mind set was I probably tweaked something I shouldn't have in the slicer or in the firmware. It wasn't until I ran out of filament in the one printer (after the countless benchy prints) and replaced it with another filament (different brand and color), that I noticed those lines were gone. After seeing that result I took that filament that printed out nicely with in the first printer, and fed it into the second printer. I uploaded the exact same gcode to it and still got the intermittent layer problem. All the belts are tensioned properly and everything moves freely. The only real big difference between the two is on the first printer I modeled a brace the goes up underneath (see picture below). I am going to print out another brace and put on my second printer and see if that helps. I do notice a bow in the front plate now, so fingers crossed this will fix it. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Re: Extrusion issues?

I think that was the issue. At the start of the print I wasnt sure if the belt was tight enough and when I seen the layer shift I tightened the belt a little and it got better. Im going to tighten it just a smidgen more, and that should take care of that problem.
